USA to ratify UN Convention on Independent Guarantees and Standby Letters of Credit?

In a message to the US Senate, the office of the President of the United States has recommended that the USA ratify the UN Convention on Independent Guarantees and Standby Letters of Credit. The message expresses the hope that by the USA ratifying the Convention, it will encourage more countries to join the eight that have ratified to date.
